Three Touch Tussle is a competitive fighting game from Team Hellfire for "Fighting Game April Jam 2026." https://itch.io/jam/fighting-game-versus-jam-2026

The year is 1926 in New York City. Prohibition is in full effect. Crime is rampant. Police are bigger crooks than the mob and the speakeasy is the safest and only place worth being in town.

Enter a world of lighting fast rounds where a single wrong choice is the difference between making out like a bandit or being the one paying the tab.

The game is built around three attack buttons: Hit, Block, and Whiff. There is no crouching.

Hit attacks cancel into themselves and deal zero damage as their utility lies in how fast they are and their ability to cancel into special moves.

Block attacks are quick, safe pokes but do not lead to anything more if they connect. Being close to the opponent and holding a horizontal direction turns the Block attack into a throw to break the opponent's guard. Both Block attacks and throws deal one damage.

Whiff attacks are slow and hard-hitting call-outs that cancel into special moves and deal one damage. Jumping attacks also deal one damage and vary in use between button and character.

Special moves are heavily influenced by the button pressed to initiate them. 

Hit special moves have their best properties when hitting the opponent and gain one bar of meter for doing so. 

Block special moves are similar, but their properties are shifted to favor connecting against guarding opponents. 

Whiff specials are completely different, as they require the move to whiff entirely or act as a fake-out. 

Getting three bars of meter turns the next Whiff special move into a super, the only attacks in the game that deal two damage on hit and one damage when blocked. These enhanced attacks make for a deadly combination when cancelled into from a Whiff attack.

Note: the battle sprites are currently placeholders. They are plans to replace them but we did not have enough time during the jam to do so.
